Problem

Author of a 18k-subscriber tech newsletter spent 4 hours/post on Ghost — formatting, SEO, header images. Substack was too generic; Ghost too rigid.

Users

Public newsletter — 18k subscribers, single author

Key flow

  1. 1Author drafts in markdown editor, takes AI suggestions or ignores
  2. 2Reviews preview, sets schedule and OG image
  3. 3Publishes — newsletter goes out, archive updates instantly

What I built

  • Custom CMS — markdown editor with Claude-suggested headlines and TLDR
  • Auto-generated meta description + OG image per post
  • Newsletter send via Resend with per-subscriber tracking
  • Public archive with semantic search across past posts

Limits

  • Single-author only — no multi-author workflow yet
  • Comments use Discourse — not integrated into the article view
